How ridiculous is it when you have so many website accounts that you find yourself forgetting your secret codes? Sometimes I wish I could write "open sesame!" and my accounts would magically open.
Anyway, so it has been A LONG TIME since I last blogged. Towards the end of last year I was getting extremely tied up with this and that - e.g. trying to pass my year!! and thus blogging took the back seat. But now that I am on holiday (well into it in fact) I spose it is a fitting time to get right back into it. I am back home in my beautiful but rather small town of Knysna. Where days are spent chilling out on the deck of my house, cooking, reading, feeding the dogs, going to the beach, running, going for coffee etc. etc. The nightlife has been on the good side this holiday as well, but I find that I may be getting a bit old and the novelty of the local club Zanzibar has kind of worn off. The crowed just keeps getting younger, my 16 year old brother is even turning into a regular! However I do enjoy going out with my friends and walking/ getting a ride in a trolley home. (Note to self; make sure you dont let Angus get as drunk as he did the other night and take you on a death ride down main street in a pick n pay trolley!)
Oh - I am home alone. Yes. Alone. It sounds cool but it really isn't. I am not the kind who thinks "AAAAH HOUSE PARTY!!" when my parents leave. So I have been spending a lot of time reading as there are no distractions when everyone is gone..
So far this holiday I have read:
-Scarred (A terrible, terrible book which I only finished as an ocd thing (i have to finish books that I start) and when it was done I tore the front page off and then threw everything in the bin. So yes. Dont reed it - there are typos galore in it just like my blog.)
-Big Dan's Sofie (a South African novel set around Knysna about a white family and their hardships - a great read!)
-The Postmistress (a girly world war 2 novel set in both London during the blitz and in America before the war hit them. I enjoyed it.)
-Room (BRILLIANT. JUST. READ. IT. Once you have gotten passed the first part of the book where you will probably find it rather bizarre - you will be HOOKED.) And Kira if you read this post I am sending you a special request to please carry on reading it whatever you do! :)
-The Elegance of the Hedgehog (An intellectual fiction novel about two very philosophical and intelligent thinkers who both live in the same building, are 40 years apart and don't know about each others cleverness. The 11 year old girl decides that she does not like the state of the world and has decided to commit suicide on her 12th birthday. It is brilliant.)
Okay please excuse my incredibly unrelated, disjointed and rather bland post - this was just a warm up to get me back into the whole thing again.
